Belleek Round Tower Centerpiece Vase
Belleek Round Tower Centerpiece Vase. This piece was designed in the latter part of the 19th Century. It's design is based on the Belleek trademark and may have been made originally as an exhibition piece. It is not shown in any early catalogues.
Its rediscovery occurred in the early 1980s when a second mark piece was brought into the Pottery. Head modeller Hugh Gallagher subsequently was able to find all the mould parts and reassemble the piece. Since then only a few have been made and it is perhaps fitting that this tower vase centrepiece is one of the pieces reintroduced to celebrate Belleek's 150th Anniversary. It is one of 800 pieces made and each is numbered and stamped with the special 150th Anniversary mark. It measures 8.5" (21.5cm) high.
