The history of the Claddagh goes back over 400 years to a little Galway fishing village. It is seen as as a symbol of love, frienship and fidelity. The union of the hands (physical) and the heart (romantic and mystical) is crowned to mark the regal and sacred aspect of the bond.The hands stand for friendship, the crown for loyalty, and the heart for love. This Wild Goose Studio piece is a little over 5 inches long and comes in cast iron, as shown, or bronze. Cast iron pieces are for indoor use only.
