The Triple Goddess
Triple Moon Goddess from Wild Goose Studio in Kinsale, Ireland. From the makers: The Triple or Moon Goddess is every woman: the mother who bears man, the nymph who lies with him, the hag who initiates him into the secrets of life and eventually buries him. Man forever seeks behind the veiled face for the nymph, is disconcerted when he finds he has embraced a mother, then is appalled when he finds the hag. Only if he can swallow the hysterical scream of the hag will he discover the eternal feminine, Hagia Sophia, Holy Wisdom.
In this sculpture by Andrew Griffiths, she is sitting on the seashore. Her realm or temenos, is often that of the boundary, where change can happen. She waits for man to embrace her in all her aspects then she becomes queen and he king.
This 6" round bronze finish art piece is designed to be hung on the wall or may be placed on a display easel. This Wild Goose Studio piece comes in cast iron or bronze, as shown. Cast iron pieces are for indoor use only. Bronze pieces can be placed outdoors where they will acquire a green patina over time. Labels on the back of each item give detailed information on its origin and significance in myth and symbol.
